Austin Texas Call to Action!!!!

It's time to rise up and take action, Austin!

The Austin Police Department has forgotten who they work for. Police Chief Acevedo wants to take FEDERAL funds to implement a program that would forcibly take your blood in the event that you refuse a breathalizer test.

Be there on Tuesday, July 8th, at the Austin Commanders Forum, and make your voice heard!

The forum starts at 6pm and goes until 7:30. Be there early with video equipment and signs, and be ready to speak and show your support.

The Forum will be taking place at 600 River Street in the Mexican American Cultural Center.

June 28th Show! Guest Karen Renick

Funny thing about the beer. We've gotten numerous comments about it and we've decided to start a beer review. What's funny about this is none of us are really drinkers. Or even that fond of beer. BUT! I am sure that I can find a beer out there I like. Somewhere. It does exist. I think.

Why did beer become such a big part of the show? Well, that first show was a bit nerve-wracking! We do broadcast on Saturday nights, so we figured something to drink would be good to calm the nerves, and the beer / broadcast symbiosis was created! So! We're going to try to have a new beer every week and give you our, somewhat biased, opinion on the taste, flavor and drinkability of the beer.

Unfortunately, our beer review did not start off with a bang. We had gotten Liberty Ale, by the San Fransisco Brewing company for our beverage of the evening. Liberty Ale, Liberty Cafe... would have to be good right?

Alas, not so. Liberty Ale has got to be a beer drinker's beer that only a seasoned conneseur of beer would appreciate. No offense to the good people at the San Fransisco Brewing company. We do wish we could have given this beer a good review. The first swallow, while not amiable to my palate, was still reasonably drinkable. Then the aftertaste kicked in. I believe Katie's comment about it was something along the lines of "horse piss". Having never drunk horse piss, and sure that Katie has not either, I cannot attest to the veracity of this analysis, but I do have to agree, it was pretty bad.

Now, someone or many someones, have been spreading a nasty rumor that the Revolution For Freedom event this coming week in Sturgis, SD from July 2-6 has been cancelled.

THIS IS NOT TRUE! The event is on! And if you would like more information, you can go to either the Granny Warriors website or the site for the event itself.

Place: Mainstream Radio - 590am KLBJ in Austin
Topic: FEDERAL RESERVE!!!!

This is good news folks! People are starting to talk about monetary policy on mainstream media more and more. This broadcast was actually critical of the Fed's policies and encouraging people to move their money out of FRN paper dollars into items that actually have value. While none of us here at Liberty Cafe pretend to be any kind of experts, let alone financial advisors, we do certainly think that careful consideration is necessary when dealing with money! The host and guest host were Patrick Timpone and Andrew Gause if you would like to check out their stuff.

They were talking about the Federal Reserve today and callers were calling talking about how corrupt the banking system is and what could we the people do to stop it. Andrew only said, protect yourself (as in assets) but we all know you have to do that and STAND UP and say NO and speak out. Get congress to know we mean business.

Guest!!! Karen Renick of VoteRescue.org and VoteRescue Radio on www.wtprn.com Fridays from 6-8 pm and Sunday 2-4pm.

We had some very big happenings here this week in Austin at the Capitol. The State House Election Committee held an Interim Hearing on Electronic Voting Machines. VoteRescue has become well known at the Capitol due to Karen's efforts and many others at VoteRescue. Because of that, they were asked to invite some expert witnesses to testify at the hearings. Overall the experts did a great job with their testimony. Listen in to get the full story!

Some additional news we thought worth mentioning!
"Thought Crime" Bill Dead in Senate

Bill of Rights Defense Committee June 28, 2008

The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act (H.R. 1955) passed by an overwhelming 404-6 in the House last October. However, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee does not plan to consider the bill this year. Grassroots activists' calls seem to have moved the bill to a very slow track for the time being.

World Heritage Sites

I did some checking into the world heritage site thing... There are several parks and monuments in the US and around the world that have been designated as such. It bears some looking into if you have the time. The National Park Service actually has an International Office. Kind of begs the question on what basis do they have the authority to tell the rest of the world what to do with their land, and why we would even consider having anyone else in the world tell us what to do with ours! I guess I'm just stuck in the idea of a free, sovereign state.

We The People - Bob Schulz's group - looking for people to email and send a request to send a letter to editor to their papers and news by the 30th of June. Please go to their website givemeliberty.org and see if you can sign up!

Don't forget to find something to be involved with this week! Check out local events, fairs, markets, festivals. All places to go meet your neighbors and do some education!

June 21st Show with Guest CAROL PAUL!!!

This was one SaWEEEEET Show!!!

Ok...I know I say SWEET entirely too much! It's just that its so fitting in so many situations! I will try to curb it down. One Austinite is going to make a drinking game out of it every Saturday night: Everytime Katie says Sweet, you take a drink! :) What a great night! Three women, beer, good conversation and some laughter! Great Combo. (At least in this Situation!!!?)

We started the show SOOO Nervous as Carol and Ron were coming on. We found out during the show that Ron was just too worn out to get on the phone (:( ) BUT We were very happy to have Carol on she is one amazing woman! We are going to try to work something out with Dr. Paul soon...we will keep you informed.

We gave a shout out to San Antonio Campaign for Liberty for inviting us to the Tubing party Saturday night. We had to miss the tubing down the river to do a show with Carol Paul...darn! :)

Talked about how so many are Debunking Global Warming AGENDA---John Coleman founder of the Weather Channel Founder. Its total BS that PEOPLE are the cause of it. Also for further info see: Global Warming Swindle a BBC Documentary.
John Coleman on Global Warming Agenda:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdRaxN5jUZE

A couple of callers at the beginning of the show called in about the current system in place in the US and Canada. There are so many laws on the books now that evidently DON'T apply to you and me as sovereign citizens and yet we've been tricked into thinking that they do. In so doing, we've been giving up our rights as sovereign PEOPLE to become registered PERSONS with only privileges granted by those in authority over us. This is a huge and complex subject that warrants looking into more. Nancy at least has heard of it, but not in enough detail or had enough time to date to really delve into the matter.

Senate Housing Bill Requires eBay, Amazon, Google, and All Credit Card Companies to Report Transactions to the Government. Just what we needed! The government needs to know how many Patriot Books, and T shirts you've bought online!

CAROL PAUL Talks with us. You have to listen to the show. It was really an honor and a privilege to have Carol Paul on. She would of been the BEST first lady in decades!! We were very lucky to have her on. My (Katie) favorite part is when I asked her what her concerns would of been if she would of been the first lady and she said making sure that Ron was getting fed and sitting down at the dinner table, picking out his clothes for him, and making sure he kept up with the family. Not some agenda or issue to control, but to take care of her husband! How awesome would that of been to have a ROLE MODEL in the white house for the FAMILY?? Also, that she wants to make sure that quilting and crocheting are not forgotten in our country's heritage. There would of been HUGE amounts of women going into quilting and crocheting all over the country and knit sweaters would come back in style! That would be awesome! Nancy and I were talking after the show and she was disappointed that she didn't get to talk more about quilting and sewing with Carol. She is an AWESOME QUILTER! She also told me that quilting is the ONLY truly original American Art form! WOW. No wonder Carol wanted to keep it in our history. Its part of our heritage. I crochet too! I have made a couple of blankets. My grandmother taught me. One comment from a listener was that Carol seemed so "comfortable" with her life. That it made her look at her own life and do some introspection because of all the complaining we do. You must go in and check out the archives on http://www.wtprn.com/archives.html#Cafe

Played a hilarious video. The only manditory thing was you had to say Republicrats when you heard them say Republicans. Check it out: Its about 2-3 minutes long.

June 14th Show - Recap of the Texas State Republican Convention

Ok, I know! I know! Long time in posting yet again, but be reassured at least that we have them ready to go, mostly, right after the show.

Welcome to the Liberty Cafe! This is Nancy and Katie and we're going to be recapping the Texas State Republican Convention. I (Nancy) just got back from the convention and I have to say, it was frustrating and exhausting. We didn't win much of anything and I know I, and many others, felt pretty railroaded by the Party Establishment.

Not all of it was bad. I also saw a lot of things we can be hopeful about. I had a conversation with one of the delegates and she was telling me how people who are establishment republicans were getting disgusted and fed up with the way the party was treating the newcomers. One delegate asked if the Nueces county thing was true and when advised yes – she took it upon herself to look it up on the internet and was appalled by how the party was treating the whole situation and made sure to look up our Ron Paul delegate again and tell her how sorry she was about how we were being treated.

Highlights from the convention.

Wednesday Night at the Meet and Greet - there was a very good crowd, Debra Medina and Paul Perry both spoke. Paul Perry was running for State Party Chair and Debra was running for State Party Vice Chair. Perry was defeated during the vote but had a strong 1/3 showing. Debra did not come to a vote because Party Rules state that one of the chairs has to be female and one male. Their platform was about having the party follow the rules and not disenfranchise the people who were there as delegates.
http://www.fairconvention.org/

We had the opportunity to interview several people at the convention including John Bush. He is an activist that we've worked with before in the Ron Paul campaign. He has some fantastic ideas and energy about moving forward in the pursuit of freedom and liberty. He is a huge supporter of getting involved in local politics and we couldn't agree more!

We had the lucky opportunity to interview
Vanessa Cahill of Nueces County. We played her interview on the air and got the run-down on what happened at the convention and prior to. Nueces County certainly sounds to us like fraud, plain and simple. She was involved in filing suit against the Republican Party because they believed their civil rights had been violated and none of the press picked it up.

(Stay tuned for our web page - should be up soon and we're going to have all the interview clips online there for everyone to hear.)

Guests!

Robert Abraham - RonPaulJournal.com

Robert is an organizer for the San Antonio meetup group for Ron Paul, as well as an activist, delegate, videographer and friend.

Robert offered his take on the convention - also told us about the 500 person strong rally following the convention across the street, where they were promptly told by police they couldn't have that large a gathering without a permit. No spontaneous group free speech here!! My god, it wouldn't be America without "Free Speech" and "Protest" zones!

Our other guest was another organizer - this time for the Republican Liberty Caucus in Austin - Lisa Mallory. Lisa was involved in the thick of the GOP battle at convention and was gracious enough to come on the show with us and share her experience as well!

Other interesting tidbits in the news:

He said in the article that the US and Britain were supporting Robert Mugabe's rule and regime. Very sad. Some of the things talked about in this article reminded me of Ron Paul and our movement.

Pilot Program now in effect for Travis and parts of Hays and Williamson Counties. During Pilot - 36 DPS troopers will have access during routing stops to verify online instantly if a vehicle has auto liability coverage required by state law. YOU BETTER HOPE THAT YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY KEEPS THIS UP TO DATE!! Fines of 250-350 up to 1000 and impounding the vehicle after the third offense. This is bs!! What about them being able to just sit there and look up people info for no reason?

Builderburg is this week. Who is there? Look at bottom of blog for US attendees. They put out a press release for the first time EVER. Public officials meeting behind closed doors with policy makers etc is in direct violation of the Logan Act. "The Logan Act (18 U.S.C.A. § 953 [1948]) is a single federal statute making it a crime for a citizen to confer with foreign governments against the interests of the United States. Specifically, it prohibits citizens from negotiating with other nations on behalf of the United States without authorization." http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/080605/20080605006246.html?.v=1

Stop C-51 Canada bill to end vitamins n supplements from being legal...Among other things. Did you know we have a section of our FDA that is specifically for joining together Mexico, Canada and US food and drug laws? Check out the link below. You will see the Flags all together and everything. This will be easy transition when the North American Union is in place. Therefore we should care if vitamins and supplements become illegal in Canada because the US would be next.

Just what we need Big Brother and your neighbors eavesdropping on us. Private conversation should be kept private! You DO have a right to privacy.

Pentagon and Air Force Launching CyberSpace Wars http://www.antiwar.com/engelhardt/?articleid=12950
Does this leave going completely off the grid the only choice in the future to maintain any kind of privacy?

June 6, 2008
Uncle Sam's Cyber Force Wants You!
by William J. Astore and Tom Engelhardt
TomDispatch

Be depressed. Be very depressed. You thought that cyberspace – a term conjured up long ago by that neuromancer, sci-fi author William Gibson – was the last frontier of freedom. Well, think again. If the U.S. Air Force has anything to say about it, cyber-freedom will, in the not so distant future, be just another word for domination.

Air Force officials, despite a year-long air surge in Iraq, undoubtedly worry that Secretary of Defense Robert Gates's "next wars" (two, three, many Afghanistans) won't have much room for air glory. Recently, looking for new realms to bomb, it launched itself into cyberspace. The Air Force has now set up its own Cyber Command, redefined the Internet as just more "air space" fit for "cyber-craft," and launched its own Bush-style preemptive strike on the other military services for budgetary control of the same.

If that's not enough for you, it's now proposing a massive $30 billion cyberspace boondoggle, as retired Air Force Lt. Col. William Astore writes below, that will, theoretically, provide the Air Force with the ability to fry any computer on Earth. And don't think the other services are likely to take this lying down. Expect cyberwar in the Pentagon before this is all over. In the meantime, think of cyberspace, in military terms, as a new realm for nuclear-style strategy, with its own developing version of "first-strike capability," its own future versions of "mutually assured destruction," its own "windows of vulnerability" to be closed (while exploiting those of the enemy), and undoubtedly its own "cyber-gaps."

In fact, it looks like the national-security version of cyberspace may soon be a very, very busy place. Noah Shachtman, who covers the subject like a rug at his Wired Magazine Danger Room blog, recently noted that Comcast, the country's second-largest Internet provider, "has just advertised for an engineer to handle 'reconnaissance' and 'analysis' of 'subscriber intelligence' for the company's 'National Security Operations'" – that is, for the U.S. government. ("Day-to-day tasks, the company says in an online job listing, will include 'deploy[ing], installing] and remov[ing] strategic and tactical data intercept equipment on a nationwide basis to meet Comcast and Government lawful intercept needs.'") Ain't that sweet.

And it shouldn't be too tough a job. As Shachtman also points out, "Since May 2007, all Internet providers have been required to install gear for easy wiretapping under the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act."

Sigh. Those who don't learn from history are bound to... get ever more bloated budgets. Tom

Also TWO TOP AIR FORCE guys fired b/c live nukes flown over US.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24988927/ Dont know whether this is a good thing or a bad thing. Why in the hell are live nukes being flown over us? test? Some say Cheney was trying to steal one? or did? We also sent nuclear fuses to Taiwan by mistake, we were supposed to be sending helicopter batteries instead. They look nothing alike. I still can't believe that LIVE nukes were flown over the nation!!!?

11:45-12am

Climate bill got voted out by republicans thank god!!! Harry Reid tried to shut down all talks about the bill so it could get voted on...send a thank you if your senator if they voted no!!! Our already high gas prices would of been $.53 cents higher.
http://www.adn.com/usbusiness/story/428141.html

Read the Bills Act: Downsize DC http://www.downsizedc.org/rtba_legislation.shtml
Basically - it means that Congress has to read a bill, out loud, with all amendments, to a quorum of sitting legislators before a vote can be taken. This would help out so much. Make them actually know what they are voting on!

Next time on air...Texas state convention will be wrapped up..should be some interesting news...come join us next week! live updates...

Okay, So I was working on the blog last week and it disappeared somewhere into the ether before I could post it. Not quite sure what happened there! Sorry for the delay and someday, I may get around to re-writing it!

Tonight's show we had some guests on - Rita and Katie unfortunately could not be with us in person. Michelle, Patrick and Shannon were great and I just want to thank them for coming on the show with me and I had a great time!

Evidently there is a new and improved version of the Declaration of Independence taught to 8th graders because we've now dumbed them down to the point they can't understand the original version. What the heck is this world coming to????

We also have Mastercard International sponsoring workbooks for our kids in 6th grade where they can design the new North American Currency. Why have we not pulled all the kids out of this farcical institutions yet? (for those kids dumbed down by our school system to the point where you can't understand what I'm saying - there's a great tool out there called a "dictionary". Very useful!

Also, here's a great way to get involved! Go to local festivals and hand out information to people! Katie has been working at the Deutschenfest in Pflugerville (not sure how to spell that - but there's beer there!!!) with the Pflugerville Ron Paul meetup group handing out DVDs, fliers, and other informational materials.

Convention is coming up here in a few weeks for Texas - This should be a VERY interesting event.

If you've missed the show and would like to catch up - you can listen to our archives here.

You can also become a friend on MySpace!

Hope you enjoy the show and tell your friends!
Nancy
